Maui with Oren

We've been having a great time in Maui going between the pool at the Condo and the beach, which is a two minute walk down from the condo. While at first scared of the sand, Oren's braved leaving the beach blanket to play in it begrudgingly and took his first steps holding only one hand for support on it. So far he crab walks side to side when he only has one hand to hold but he's improving.

Also, he's enjoying the Pacific Ocean. He likes being tossed in the air when it's safe (usually in the pool) and holds on like a barnacle when the waves get rough. We're slowly exploring more of the island as well; today we went to Makawao and Kula and stopped by a farm stand that had delicious strawberries.

One hand!

Oren, finally off the blanket!

This is me having fun!

Welcome to my house!

As the vacation continued, Oren got braver, walking all the way down the beach and back holding of our hands. Also, after teaching him to climb a single step he just sailed up a whole flight of steps at the condo. Of course, then he turned around at the top as if he were about to base jump so we have to be right behind him. We had a lot of fun feeding him the Keiki (kids) menu when we went out. He'd also have french fries and fresh Mahi mahi or Ahi with us.  It was a fun trip for all and even Jersey looked exhausted from good times at day care by the time we got home.

Happiest holding both hands.
We watched the sun set every night.
