Oren had a smashing first birthday! The theme was whales and Ryan made a blue iced chocolate layer whale cake. We were all so grateful to have family come in to Seattle to help us celebrate. Baba and JiJi came in from Tokyo. Grandpa and Meme flew over from New York. And Auntie Mimi and Kaisuke came in from Brooklyn as well. We were thankful for everyone who joined us and helped make the day special for us and for Oren. Here are a few highlights.
Hosaka/Stone/David assembly team was in full force.
Oren was thrilled by the chocolate whale. He made face paint out of the icing too.
Even Jersey helped celebrate!
Oren loved his new car from Baba and Jiji. Kaisuke was happy to drive him around too.
Oren had to hold Baba's and Mimi's hands. Later, parting was such sorrow.
On our last day together we all went to the Seattle Aquarium where Oren did not exactly measure up.
