We had a fun few days on Mount Rainier over Labor Day. Although the top of the mountain made only a quick appearance on day 2, we hiked around its base about a mile up. The wildflowers were out in their end of summer glory and fields glowed in pinks and yellows. Oren enjoyed pointing out all the rocks he saw as we hiked along. He collected quite a few to take home as well. He also impressed us by pooping three times in a row in three separate diapers on our way up the mountain. On our last day we got rained out and taking a quick look at the weather map, escaped to Gig Harbor, WA. Gig Harbor is a sleepy waterside town on the other side of the famous Tacoma Narrows bridge. We then took a ferry back to Seattle for a proper arrival back to our town.
